Somalia is flat in the south but go north and you’ll see mountains that reach more than 6,500 feet (2,000 metres).

Ancient rock paintings, dating back 5000 years, have been found in the northern part of Somalia. Laas Geel complex is the most famous, containing some of the earliest rock paintings on the continent.

Agriculturally Somalia produces bananas, corn, sorghum (type of grain), coconuts, cattle and also fish.
The country exports livestock, hides, fish, bananas and charcoal.
